"My truest sensibilities come to life when creating photo scenarios with an emphasis on unique set design & eye-catching perspectives."
Gabriel Mendoza Weiss is a Mexican American photographer and director. He grew up in an Air Force family. Every summer his family would pack up the minivan and head to a new military base. During those cross-country trips to a fresh town, he'd peer out the back window and let the environment wash over him. Unbeknownst to him at the time, that would end up being a poignant awakening to shaping his view of the world---a moving image through a square frame. Seeing the world go by through the framing of the backseat window of his mother's Dodge Caravan would eventually become his compass as a visual artist.
"My inspiration comes from the need to calm my racing thoughts and give form to the abstract ideas that live deep within my mind. When I create, it feels like I’m tapping into a part of myself I didn’t know existed, as if my subconscious is revealing itself through shapes, forms, and colors. Each piece of art is like a release—an expression of what’s hidden beneath the surface, transforming into something visual that helps me understand my own inner world."
First and foremost, Ander Lucas is an artist. They are also a graphic and motion designer, as well as a video editor, based in Los Angeles, CA. As a queer Latino, Ander’s identity profoundly influences both their personal journey and artistic expression. Their work beautifully blends abstract forms with realism and typography, reflecting the contrasts that shape their life. Ander loves exploring a diverse array of styles and influences—from popular culture and the post-punk movement to indie films, mid-century interior design, and modern architecture. They thrive on variety and never confine themselves to a single path. When not immersed in digital art, you’ll likely find Ander crocheting or knitting. These hands-on crafts provide a sense of peace and serve as another avenue for creative expression. For Ander, art in all its forms is a vital source of therapy.
"My collection, Domestiki, available exclusively on Society6, features vintage-inspired pin ups brimming with sensuality and fun. Each piece features exotic and enchanting vixens designed to bring you a smile. Known for my richly textured and detailed illustrations, I continue to evolve as an artist, always seeking new ways to express my unique vision and elevate Latina artists worldwide."
Kat Reeder is an illustrator and designer based in Honolulu, HI. Born in Peru and raised in Miami, FL. Her artwork is deeply influenced by the vivid colors of her upbringing, her love for vintage mid century illustrations and the sultriness of tropical women. Reeder’s work celebrates the female form, capturing the cheeky sensuality of Latina women while paying homage to the mid century modern and cubist illustrations she admired as a child.
"I love the quote “you can’t be what you can’t see.” That’s what I think about whenever I do a piece of work or a campaign about my cultural background. I strive to create work for all the Latinx people out there who feel like they’re lacking representation in art and media. I especially feel that as a Nicaraguan-American, a severely underrepresented Latin American country with an incredibly rich culture and history. I love to share what I can to teach people about my culture and to connect with others in the Latinx community."
