As a child, X.L. had a sudden aspiration to become an artist. However, her parents counseled her to follow a more practical career path, leading her to pursue a professional field. Many years later, the Covid-19 pandemic brought about a pause in her work and studies. With a restless spirit, X.L. took this chance to try her hand at painting.
Despite having no prior art training, X.L.'s potential shines through in her pieces. From my perspective, her work deserves recognition.
As her works mature, she becomes increasingly drawn to impressionism and a minimalist aesthetic that blends loose brushwork with a luminous color palette. The application of paint in some of her works is so delicate that they are often mistaken for watercolor paintings. The art radiates a lightness of being permeated by grace and tenderness. Often featured are landscapes and seascapes rendered in a dreamlike fashion that evokes a desire to put pen to paper in the viewer.
Stay tuned, as more of her works will be showcased in the coming months. Thank you for reading.
