Connecticut-based artist Sarah Baskin has been painting in watercolor for many years. She is attracted to the transparency of watercolor and how the white of the paper shines through the paint. She loves to include people in her impressionist landscapes and cityscapes. Although she has always lived in southern New England, her favorite place in the world is Brooksville, ME, where she has spent her summer vacations for her entire life. Most of her paintings are inspired by the natural beauty of the surrounding towns, harbors and islands of Maine's Penobscot Bay.
