Carley Rochester-Cobb

I have been a photographer my whole life, even before I knew it. Often, some kind of camera would find its way into my hand, pushing me to try something new, or emulate artists or music videos I loved. But the main motivator for me was light - all kinds of light. It made me jump out of my seat and run after it. It made me fall in love. It sometimes broke my heart, but I could never stay away too long. My life’s work was set out before me, ready whenever I was.

In 1996, I graduated cum laude from Bowling Green State University with a BFA in Fine Art Photography. The art form has changed considerably over the years, and soon my prized Cannon SLR and Rolleiflex, loaded with film that I developed in my basement dark room gave way to clunky digital cameras, and finally to my iPhone today. Film will always be my first true photographic love, but there’s nothing better than being able to make a photo whenever I want, wherever I go. Thanks for coming along with me.
