I am part teacher, part artist, part traveler. I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA studying art and graphics/advertising at Penn State University. Post graduation, I worked in textile/graphic design in the fashion world for fashion icons Donna Karan and Norma Kamali in New York City. Now I can be found teaching my amazing and talented high schoolers at a public school back here in the Burgh. When I am not teaching, I can be found pursuing my other passion - traveling the world! I personally believe that travel cultivates and develops the human soul, creates global citizenship, and teaches independence. My most recent visit was to Brazil for the Olympics! My personal art is usually created using watercolor or acrylics, but I explore ceramics as well! My acrylic paintings are done in a realistic style with expressionistic qualities through the use of color, splatter, and layers. I like to explore fun and kitschy everyday subjects, especially those relating to my hometown, Pittsburgh. I am open to selling the originals if interested. If you'd like something customized, I am available for commissioned artwork as well. The artwork you see on my etsy shop are prints (copies) of the original.
