African Geometric Pattern Designs

Ntsindiso Victor Nqakaza is a visual artist born in Bizana, a small town in the Eastern Cape province. During his studies at Ruth Prowse School of Arts in Cape Town, he obtained a graphic design diploma. He uses geometric shapes that are influenced by African visual language in his work.

Having a deep understanding of his traditional African language of symbols inspires Ntsindiso's work. From this language of symbols, he developed two-dimensional patterns. African people and their culture are conveyed through these patterns and symbols, illustrating how identical symbols can convey multiple meanings at once.
