Having grown up in foster care, I developed a method of coping with stress through the medium of drawing my emotions. This interest evolved into a passion for chalk pastels in 2015, leading to my work being showcased in various local venues. My artistic creations predominantly depicted well-known landmarks in the Tulsa area, alongside personal commissions that included portraits, animal representations, and landscapes. For nearly ten years, I transitioned into a nursing career while also serving as a caregiver for my father. In May 2023, I decided to take a hiatus from nursing to dedicate my time primarily to my art. My artistic focus is mainly on oil pastels, and I occasionally employ a paintbrush for blending purposes. I have a particular affinity for Sennelier oil pastels, a richly pigmented pastel developed in the 1940s in collaboration with Pablo Picasso.
