Hi, my name is Rachel. I came from a lineage of artists and was lucky to be surrounded by this creative aliveness that was my family. As I got older my artistic skills were put to the wayside until eventually becoming dormant. On a deep level I perhaps felt a sense of inferiority in this realm as it compared to my talented mother, grandmother, and great grandmother growing up. But what I did not realize at the time was that by not accessing this creative part of myself, I was also giving up the part of myself that makes me feel most alive.

I moved to a new city - Downtown Saint Petersburg - vibrant with local artists spreading art on every building and in imaginative ways. I cannot pinpoint one specific event that reignited my desire to make art but rather can see that a culmination of inspiring and driving forces lead me to it. Creating art is now a part of my daily life. I have implemented it in some obvious, and many subtle ways, and it is a constant source of joy. I love to experiment with different types of media.
