I'm a food historian, chef, and visual artist living in Atlanta. I run Root (@rootkitchens), which is a food history organization focused on using the power of food to build community and facilitate personal enrichment. Root is my passion project, and the culmination of over a decade of work across several fields, including academic research (PhD included!), art, hospitality, and libraries and cultural heritage. I use all of this experience to do everything from run community events to create food used on independent film sets. The art I've shared here is an outcome of my work with Root, and is representative of some of my favorite places and a window into the deep connection I hold with the food I share with you and the natural world around us.
