Carla grew up obsessing over the Classic Disney Animated Features which lead to the interest of all fantasy subject matter. Many of her childhood days involved pretending to be a magical humanoid and running bare foot through the summer trees. Today, she uses her childlike wonder to fuel her everyday life and creative spirit. Carla finds joy and purpose in allowing an audience to be comfortable with the fantastical. Elements of Carla's work focuses on colour and how it is conveyed. She finds these colour choices contribute to creating a sense of whimsy for her pieces. Carla is mainly inspired by all fantasy-type things and creatures while also looking within to capture the essence of herself.
