My name is Nat.
I and my Russian Belovéd—a sailor and adventurer of epic proportions—are currently in Brazil, with plans to spend the next three years sailing around the Caribbean and parts of South and Central America. Our top three goals for this trip are to learn the languages (Portuguese, Spanish), to make art as we go that is directly influenced by our experiences in these new (to us) places, and to spend as much time as we can with the people who live here, because real travel is not about empty postcard beaches, but about the culture and people of the country.
I'm a bookbinder, needleworker, and sometimes I paint and draw. I try, every day, to articulate living and loving with my hands. I love the challenge of learning something new or figuring out how to turn my imagination into real things. I have a wild but positive imagination! I love "the singular quality of the handmade, creative, and self-reliant life".
