Mixed media using watercolor, pastel, charcoal, acrylic, ink, gouache, and markers of many colors. Staring with a photograph, digital tools and internet/books research are applied to solidify the composition and theme of the image to be created. Some images call for a sketch of the composition along with networks of intricate shapes observed in natural flora and landscapes. Others rely on people and their environment, their myths and stories. You will see an explosive whirlwind of color, or a more controlled use of color and shapes, and a few monochromatic pictures. All are the result of continuous experimentation with an ever-growing eclectic toolbox to capture and communicate visually the fun, emotions and beauty that are omnipresent all around you and me.
