49th & Elm is the brainchild of two aging punk rock guys -- Travis Miller and Joe Smith -- who aspire to more than a life office drone-ism … but not much more. They used to be in a band together, but now just meet up for Thai food and the occasional cup of coffee. In fact, it was during one such meal that idea for 49th & Elm was born. They didn’t realize it at the time, but once the ideas started flowing, it became clear that their shared mission in life was to produce culturally volatile clothing, and other expertly designed goods, for the misfit teenager in everyone.
