James W is a self-taught Abstract Artist based in Sydney, Australia, who found his love and passion for painting in October 2018 as a way to deal with the grief from the passing of two family members that year.

With a broad range of influences attributed to his time working in Art Galleries in his teens and the UK Film and TV Industry, the move into Abstract Art was one that felt entirely natural. Currently he works within the Construction industry proving that you should never 'judge a book by its cover' but hopes that one day he can hang up his hard hat and pick up a brush on a more permanent basis.

James believes that there are 'no rules' when it comes to how he paints but is a big believer in connecting with his audience, creating 'cool' abstract artworks that can be displayed anywhere from home to the office is his driving force and his love and passion for colour, movement, texture and a relationship with the canvas is something he continues to develop and grow.

"If I can connect with someone for even a brief moment, drawing their eye to a place on the canvas that makes them think, I have achieved what I set out to do. My paintings should not just be seen from face on, I create a surface that can be viewed and appreciated from all angles and a relationship with colours that resonate".
