Hello! My name is Maria João and I’m an illustrator from Portugal! Drawing and Illustration have always been part of my life. I remember being a Kid and substitute the dolls for crayons or board games, I remember loving the smell of paint and the texture of the paper. Nothing gave me more pleasure than that. I usually say drawing is my therapy, it helps me clear my mind. I have a degree in Art and Design from the Escola Superior de Educação de Coimbra (ESEC) and a postgraduate in Graphic Design from Lisbon School of Design (LSD). Even though digital illustration is the medium I use the most, I love the traditional arts, and my favourite materials are acrylic paint and gouache.
