April Sj Choi

Since grade 2, April has no memory of being interested in art until nearly 40 years of age. Her vivid memory of the magical moment while creating a clay sculpture in an art class has left her because of a mischievous incident when she was grade 2. Like a prank of fate, she met a local artist who runs an aisle coffee shop in a mall and paints in the cramped corner in his shop in Vancouver. She came around to the art when she saw art standing in her way. April is a self-taught artist. She transforms her observation of her circumstances into her ideal world by painting.
