I am a Ukrainian-Chechen fine artist, living in Germany, Frankfurt am Main. I usually work with oil and acrylic paints. Influenced by Van Gogh in my earlier works, I however changed from colorful impressionistic style to more darker, abstract and figurative direction, which helps me to reveal my inner feelings and impressions and awake the deepest emotions of the audience. The abstract depictions of female figures, bodies and faces, symbolize my vision of the surrounding world, which I represent in the society from the female point of view. Revealing of femaleness is the core motive of my works, which I often combine with the challenging background from within. My latest series is a good example of it: mixture of female depictions and traditional Ukrainian flower motives (petrykivka) illustrate an awful political situation in my homeland. The same as my most favourite musician and human rights activist Nina Simon I believe that “the artist’s duty is to reflect the times and the situations, in which she finds himself.” So, I try to follow this motto on my artistic way.
