Elizabeth is a San Diego based painter, working with watercolor & acrylic. Her passions showcased in her paintings are nature and roller skating. After graduating from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, her style shifted from striving for absolute realism to more painterly visuals accompanied by realistic foundations. While the term "realizm" does present itself in most of her work, the play on words is meant to indicate remaining true to herself and her subjects, while allowing room and freedom for the painter to express anything from a controlled flow to chaos.
The roller skating community has inspired a lifestyle that encourages embracing yourself and sparking joy through the sport. The sport itself is a controlled flow that has the capacity for dire physical consequences. Waking up to the fragility of her physical state...the bruises, the sore muscles, the bloody scrapes, and the cracking of bones were all exhilarating risks for a moment of bliss and feeling truly alive. Bright colored roller skates paired with elements of nature embody the delicacy and joy of the sport. Elizabeth has been an artist for as long as she can remember but proudly owned the title when roller skating became a major outlet of expression and subject of her work.
