I am currently a senior at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. In May, I will be graduating with my BFA in Communication Design. My concentrations are Graphic Design and Advertising, minoring in Art History.
To view my Graphic Design portfolio website go to blairstrain.myportfolio.com I am a strongly passionate and dedicated individual, especially when it comes to design. I am not afraid of challenging myself professionally. Recently my advertising campaign won a Silver Award in the International Graphis Talent Annual. I also have experience freelancing for clients while attending school. I have made the Dean's List every semester with a grade point average above 3.9, both at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and Northampton Community College, where I graduated with honors.
Over four short years, I taught myself how to manage time efficiently, prioritize multiple projects, and communicate creative concepts with clients, colleagues, and other professionals. Over the summer I worked as a Curatorial Intern at a local Gallery, where I exhibited and curated the summer show. I consider myself a self-motivated creative individual. While I was not at the gallery, I taught myself how to screen-print from a home-based studio inside a closet. During my studies at Northampton Community College, I went to the extent to hand-craft my portfolio case. This taught me bookbinding techniques and basic operations of a fabrication lab.
Aside from my education, I enjoy painting and experimenting with different media, wandering outdoors with my harness-trained cat, and challenging myself to learn new things. I am eagerly seeking a Junior Graphic Design position in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area with room to grow within the company. I am consistently excited to see what the design world has to teach me.
