One of the things I love to do is what I call 'Take the Long Way Home.' With a tip of the hat to Super Tramp, I will turn off my normal ride and take a different path home. I often find new scenes to photograph and things that inspire me. You will find prints on my site of historical sites to graffiti to coastal views. I love a variety of views and I want to share them with you.It also breaks up the monotony of every day living and sometimes you just find a special place that has meaning to you. At times I [and maybe you too] need to step outside my comfort zone to experience things out side of my 'normal' life. A huge part of our day is 'home to work' work, and 'work to home'; and the monotony drains your soul. Maybe you are a parent who needs to be home for your family and that takes every ounce of energy you have. Every so often, when everything becomes a huge wave ready to hit us, it is time to take a break from the chaos, anxiety, or the rat race and make that first turn off the road and experience a new area and see the world from a new point of view. The opportunity to stop the truck and jump out to view the landscape or water views is what makes me smile. It does not matter whether my turn takes me to the coast, along a lake, a winding country road or to beautiful mountains; they bring serenity and awe. This is what keeps me balanced and engaged. Life just sucks at times and this is my way to get my feet grounded again. I have lived along the Jersey Shore basically my whole life and I love the convenience of being within 90 minutes of a big city, while being 15 minutes away from the ocean, 5 minutes away from walks along a lake or in the woods. Try it some time. Go down that one road you always drive by; you just may be surprised on how the stress leaves your body.
