I create art primarily in pastels, oils and charcoal. I graduated from Michigan State University, studying textiles and art. Over the years, I have studied drawing, painting, calligraphy, stone sculpture, weaving, computer art and animation, and website design and creation. I was fortunate to continue my art studies with many well known pastel artists, including workshops with Cara Reische, Will Klemm, Susan Carlin, Richard McKinley, Bob Rohm, Claudia Seymour, Liz Haywood-Sullivan, Fred Somers and Barbara Jaenicke.
God’s creation inspires me every day. In my view, art should improve the life of the artist and the viewer – by giving them beauty, humor, a moment of peace… I love to feel that I have achieved that whenever possible. And I'm grateful for the opportunity to try.
I teach drawing and pastel classes at my studio, and give demos and workshops on painting skies.
