Cheryl Pettigrew Fine Art

Cheryl Pettigrew is a Colorado based artist who lives in Gunnison in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Her passion for art includes oil, acrylic and watercolor painting. Much of her inspiration comes from observing colors around her in their natural form. Sunrises, sunsets and large bodies of water with their reflections are all motivations to head to the studio and break out the brushes. Cheryl enjoys a wide variety of subjects including abstract landscapes, figurative, still life and everything pertaining to the mountains where she lives. It is Cheryl’s belief that as our world continues to experience chaos and crisis, art is needed more now than ever, even as a brief escape from the reality and harshness we all experience.

Cheryl Pettigrew Graduated from Western State College, now Western State University, in 2000. During her education she gained a wealth of knowledge about painting by studying the masters. Among her favorites are Cezanne, Renoir and Monet, the impressionists. Her work has been in gallery shows at the Gunnison Arts Center, the Agora Gallery in New York and the International Gallery of the Arts, Toronto Canada as well as several online exhibitions. Cheryl’s art has been published in various magazines including LandEscapes Online Magazine where she received a 16 page interview. In the Moments of Imagination competition hosted by the SyFy channel Cheryl won 3rd place and was awarded a camera.
