Darby Shea Boggs is a fine artist living right outside Savanah, Georgia with her husband, sweet little boy, and three rescue pups. All through childhood and into her young adult years she expressed her creativity in a multitude of ways. These creative pursuits came to an abrupt halt once she started graduate school and then entered the workforce as a physical therapist in 2019. Then COVID hit, and like many she found herself with extra time, and naturally returned to her passion for painting. Now, she balances both careers on top of her newest and greatest endeavor yet - being a mother.
The subjects in Darby’s art revolve around florals and landscapes. Her work is often gestural and expressive and has subtle elements of surprise, such as a glimmer of gold peeking through the clouds from a gold underpainting, or bright marks of color along a flower’s petals and the spaces surrounding them. Her work is inspired by memories - memories of gardening with her grandmothers as a child, memories of the far off lands she has visited and those she sees everyday, and sometimes even places or things that she wants to one day create memories of. Painting and preserving these slivers of time brings her indescribable joy, and her only hope is that the paintings she creates bring at least a small measure of this joy into your home.
