Kadi

My name is Kadi, and I'm an acrylic painter based in Washington, DC. My journey in art began in Damascus, where I first explored my passion by painting for children's drawing books. These early experiences sparked my love for creating visuals that tell stories and evoke emotions.

As a Palestinian refugee who grew up in Syria, art has always been my refuge and means of expression. My work is inspired by a wide range of subjects, from the complexities of life and identity to the simplicity of modern life and still life. I love to draw ordinary objects and give them a soul, transforming them into something more meaningful and thought-provoking.

When I paint, my goal is to make the viewer pause and see the portrait or object from a different perspective. I want my work to provoke thought, to make people ask why, and to engage with the deeper meanings and stories behind each piece. Using bold colors, dynamic compositions, and textured techniques, I bring my ideas to life, inviting viewers to connect with my art on a deeper level.

Now based in Washington, DC, I'm passionate about contributing to the local art scene and sharing my work with a wider audience. Through my art, I aim to reflect my journey and offer a fresh perspective on the world around us, creating pieces that resonate with both personal and universal themes.
