Hey there! I'm a fine artist from the north west currently living in South in the USA. I paint on canvas with acrylic now... I have always enjoyed painting (and drawing) animals. I am partly disabled or living with disabilities and often I have to stand the whole time I make each of my paintings (back pain sitting). I have a connective tissue disorder (painful), osteoporosis, and quite a few other medical issues. My disabilities have tried to stop me, but I've worked really hard to push through all the pain and re-start doing all my artwork again. People were interested recently and I really want to make art for everyone to enjoy. I will also be putting on piece in a gallery here, in a few months. I started drawing horses and dogs as early as I can remember...age 5 on. I always loved horses. Who doesn't? I won art contests when I was little, I was featured in the newspaper in 5th grade. I had art published as a teen in the Idaho Humane Society newsletter...drawing dogs off course. Drawing was the only constant in my life. It was always something I was good at and that people enjoyed. I made gifts for my family. I didn't do a lot of art for a long time or nothing major. 10 years ago I started drawing again...Then last year I wanted to learn how to do more colorful abstract animals, because that's all the rage now it seems. I like the bright colors splashed on to animals randomly...I love to paint or draw realism, but that alone was too boring for me. So adding some crazy colors seemed interesting...some drips, runs, I wanted a challenge. This type of bright abstract animal paintings on canvas with acrylic and water has been the challenge of lifetime. It really keeps me busy.. I like to paint on canvas..I like the way it hangs on the wall uninterrupted by a frame, not confined. I developed my very own technique of making acrylic like watercolors, and applying them directly to the canvas. Not usually done....I hated watercolor paper, it always seems to wrinkle, then you have to frame things anyways. So my technique is awesome...different....unique. Unlike some artist nowadays, all my art is made by hand, traditionally, nothing is added by putting it on a computer or screen and changing it, like some artists do. If interested in originals please contact me directly. I typically don't offer them for sale, or not many anyways. If you want a commission of an original like one you've seen on here, please message me about it. I will sometimes take commissions, but They are $450 - $1200 for a 16in x 20in on canvas. I don't do portraits of humans. If you have something you'd like me to paint, you can request something, and buy a print from here later of it if you like it. I have just started painting again, and ideas are welcomed. Thank you for all your support, it always means the world to me!
