My love for art and creative chaos was awakened in me during my visits to my great-grandfather's studio, who was an artist. These very visits are some of my earliest childhood memories. I remember how the light would fall on unfinished paintings, the countless paintbrushes, different shades of color and the creaky floor. For me, it was as if my great-grandfather did not come from this planet. With color and paintbrushes, he painted images, created emotions, and told stories unable to be told with words. Creating always brings back the feelings I felt in his studio. To me, it means safety, happiness, peace, and a pinch of magic. In my teens, I abandoned painting since I allowed myself to be convinced that it's a waste of time pursuing something that does not bring money. Even though the primary incentive of my creativity was never moneymaking. Creating is my voice, my expression, and my essence. In 2016, I took part in a workshop of modern calligraphy, which reminded me how deeply I missed creating. I started writing calligraphy and creating stamps, but my biggest love remains painting. This is why it almost always appears in my products one way or another.
Why abstract? The meaning of abstract is fluid. In a given moment it gives you what you need. In one moment it can mean pain, in another happiness, safety, peace... Creating abstract pieces is in some way therapy, which can bring feelings to the canvas which we are not even aware of. Observing the colors doing their own thing and telling their own story is something you can get addicted to. I hope my artwork awakens honest emotions in you which are fluttering in your heart and works as a silent reminder that it is necessary to live life for yourself and not based on the expectations of others.
