“Be my fish and explore the world with me, if you do not belong to the ocean,” said Mr Fox to The Fish. “I am a fox who lost his way to the forest.”
ABOUT FOXISH
Foxish is a story about a fox and his fish.
The little fox doesn’t have a name, but he would be happy if you call him Mr Fox. He doesn’t have a name for his fish as well.
“The Fish,” said Mr Fox, “if you want to mention her.”
Maybe we can describe Mr Fox as a kind-hearted little boy, yet he is simple-minded and clumsy. Although Mr Fox has a clever and smart fish, they do not share a language with each other.
“Be my fish and explore the world with me, if you do not belong to the ocean,” said Mr Fox to The Fish. “I am a fox who lost his way to the forest.”
Without any choice, The Fish becomes Mr Fox’s fish and they start their journey. Well, for The Fish, her life begins being frustrating by the clumsiness and nonsense of Mr Fox.
They don’t have a place which they can call home. They wander around in a city which is very tiny but busy. As wild foxes normally can’t be found outside of forests, Mr Fox is probably the only one in this city. The Fish is one of the cheapest kinds of fish who was supposed to be dead on a crowded street. Life is tough to be different, but they will survive and start to shine together slowly anyway.
The story of Foxish is simple, but full of challenges and adventures.
ABOUT KL
KL is the nick name of Kaling Wong, who is the founder and illustrator of Foxish n kl. Watercolour is her favourite medium for painting. Animals always take important roles in her illustrations, as she is a vegetarian who love animals more than human beings. It’s enjoyable for her to visualise her imagined world on a piece of paper, hoping that her creations would make somebody smile. One of her greatest wishes is to publish her own picture book one day. KL also plays a role as the guardian of Mr Fox in her story "Foxish".
Having a great passion for drawing and painting from a very young age, KL keep developing her skills on a self-learn base. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 2014 from Hong Kong Baptist University, Academy of Visual Arts, where she learnt a lot of other forms of art and craftsmanship.
In 2015, the brand Foxish n kl was established by the encouragement of her friends, selling her illustration works printed as postcards and taking commission orders.
