Contemporary fine art photographer, digital artist and costume designer Grete Stitch Laus ( real name Grete Laus-Evestus) is aiming to inspire people all over the world. Fantasy, mystery, fairytales and sometimes very dark art, themes and humour invites you to keep on dreaming.
Born in North Eur ope, Estonia, Grete moved to Italy, Milano when she was 18 and graduated FdA degree in Fashion Design at Istituto di Moda Burgo after which she moved to London, UK to work and study, graduating as courses best with 1st class honours the world renowned London College of Fashion (University Arts London) in BA (Hons) Fashion: Styling and Photography.
Grete's work has been published widely in local and international media: in print (Worldwide Gothic Book, Terrorizer Magazine, Creative Head, Devolution Magazine, Buduaar, Cosmopolitan, Postimees, Kroonika Magazine, etc), and on TV (Eurovision Song Contest, MTV, MTV Baltics, BBC, ETV, TV3, etc). Her works include several opera and musical costume designs for Estonian National Opera (Leigh's Man of La Mancha, Poulenc's Inimhääl, etc) and NUKU theatre (Tiit/Kikas- Libahunt) and has created costumes for one of the biggest local cruise ship company- Tallink, for the past years (2018, 2019) for which she has received much media attention and published in print and online.
Grete has collaborated with various well-known brands and projects as a stylist, including iD Magazine, Maharishi, Goldwell, Toni & Guy, Club AntiChrist, Eurovision Song Contest, Eesti Laul etc and premiere league football players, including Diomansy Kamara (Fulham), creating branding, promo images and digital artworks.
Extensive work as an art director and music video director has been awarded several times (MTV, ETV, Top 100 best music videos of Estonia), her work selected to the Digital Photographer's Yearbook, her music videos to festivals (Birgitta Festival, Sleepwalkers festival, Supertoon Animation Film Festival, Tindirindis Festival, Animania the International Animation Festival, View Award Conference, Anim`est Festival, etc) and exhibitions include two in London (Carnaby Street Graduate exhibition and John Prince's Street exhibition at London College of Fashion), Hong Kong (Exhibition at Apparel Product Design and Development Center) and Tallinn (Nukumaja, NUKU theatre, etc).
Work with musicians is the most important part of Grete's work, having collaborated extensively with industrial act Evestus, creating all promo images, 10 music videos, lyric videos, costumes and album artwork, but also several collaborations as a music video creative director or stylist (Kerli, Laura Põldvere, Toe Tag, Jana Kask, Sulpher, My Secret Island, etc) with her most famous perhaps Evestus "The Fall" and Kerli "Army of Love", both complete opposite of each other, but with a surreal, bizarre feel that let's the viewer dream of a different world.
