My work is a political act, a personal and artistic form of activism regarding issues of gender and race. My paintings breathe this feminine universe, built of so many elements that no visual composition would be able to embrace. My effort is that women, especially as black women, can also recognize themselves as elements of artistic admiration, with all their poetry and strength, but also their weaknesses and delicacies.
