she/her I am energized by natural materials spotted primarily in urban green spaces by virtue of chance encounters. My intuition is the catalyst for the myriad of materials I collect and organize trusting that a deeper camaraderie will emerge over time. This relationship while essentially ineffable is a way of perpetually honouring the rhythms of nature.
Living in a four-season climate I am drawn to the shifting form and texture of these objects; I attentively photograph varying arrangements that I affectionately refer to as my bundles. I also use my collections of plant material as a medium for eco-printing and natural dying applications and inspiration for printmaking projects.
My approach to printmaking is unconventional – I intentionally disrupt the traditional form, systems, rules, surface barriers and alignment is my intentional approach to printmaking. My curiosity is more aligned with the unexpected results, proofs and experimental aftermath collected through explorations with an amalgam of print modalities. These too are arranged into harmonious bundles or arrangements for further consideration.
