MAJ Justin Letourneau, (ret.) has been painting and drawing in some form or fashion for approximately the past 20 years. Having retired as a military officer in 2015, he plans to devote much more time to creating art and thinking of new forms of expression. Having spent 23 years on active duty, his inspiration comes from myriad sources. He spent 9 years in total living in Germany throughout his career, so lots of travel around Europe and seeing some of the world’s most amazing artwork certainly provided many sources of inspiration. His combat deployments over the years include Desert Storm, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, all providing different views into the human machine. For the past 7 years, he has also been a practicing certified physician assistant, having graduated from the Interservice Physician Assistant Program in Fort Sam Houston, TX through the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2011. He now is a Psychiatric PA-C working in Bradenton, FL. In this unique position, he is able to realize for many patients the exceptionally therapeutic value of psychotherapy focused on being able to express one’s self through art in its many forms. His mediums include oils, acrylics, inks, and digital art. A coffee table book of digital images is pending.
