Nicolas Avet

Born and raised in Houma, Louisiana, Nicolas always enjoyed drawing, painting, and spending time at his family fishing camp throughout his childhood and into his adult life. After graduating from South Terrebonne High School, Nicolas enrolled at Nicholls State University with the intention of an artistic career. In 2001, Nicolas attended The Art Institute of Houston in their Animation program and received his Associates Degree in 2003. Unfortunately, he spent the next two years unsuccessful in his pursuit of an animation position, so in 2005, Nicolas boldly decided to return to college for Drafting/Design. After graduating from Fletcher Technical Community College in 2007 with a degree in Drafting/Design, Nicolas became a Architectural Draftsman at GHA Architectural Firm. While employed at GHA, he worked on several architectural renderings and animations. In 2012, Nicolas left GHA and went to work for Lafourche Parish Water District as a Water Plant Operator. It was about that time that he began painting fulltime on his days off. Nicolas is represented by KAKO GALLERY on Royal Street in the French Quarter in New Orleans, and 1920 Magazine Gallery in the Garden District also in New Orleans. Nicolas and his family currently resides in Houma Louisiana
