The Kingdom of Klah is a place of mysterious splendour, exotic beasts and curious tales. They are known for many things: their unbeatable walrus-riding team (possibly unbeatable as they are the only country to partake in the sport), their breed of native singing cats, several unusual national dishes such as “fresh fig & lettuce pie” and “eggs with egg jam”, and of course, the splendid natural scenery of the small island nation, from fierce snowcapped mountains to tropical beaches, lakes with water and trees with leaves.

Nina van der Voorn is the Royal Master Artist for Kingdom of Klah, a parallel universe of characters, stories and products (even a very occasional newspaper, The Klah Gazette). It began life as a way to fundraise for her community art gallery in rural New Zealand and has since become the project itself. She works half from forests in New Zealand, and half from festivals in Europe.
