Koen grew up in the meadows near Amsterdam, The Netherlands. As a child he was fascinated by nature. He collected rocks and minerals and read everything about nature that could be found. The passion for outdoor living has always been there.

This has translated into a passion for nature photography. The first sunlight, the calm and tranquility of nature and the encounters you can experience there with the animal kingdom are the fuel for Koen's photography.
