Hi my name is Lyndsey and I am a landscape and 'Pop Art' artist, nature photographer and textile designer. I am largely influenced by music in my work and I always associate a song or band with the art I create, compositions, locations, light and time of day.
The places I paint and photograph are usually the places I've lived or visited, largely my town Lytham St. Anne's, near Blackpool in the UK, my second home Manchester and my current abode Dalgety Bay, near Edinburgh Scotland. Each location and time of day remind me of days and nights spent listening to music and moments in time from my past that are particularly emotive and each are named after a song full to the brim with memories.
My 'Pop Art' is also inspired by musicians and bands that have heavily influenced and inspired me over the years, that have helped me through the tough times and filled the days and nights with pure joy and experience.
In my landscapes I am particularly interested in exploring light and reflections, having always lived near the sea or canals. My favourite time of day are sunsets, sunrises, twilight and the night and the effect of the sun and the moon and stars, that light up the sky and clouds and shimmer and reflect in magical rays and shards across the water, land and man made structures.
I am a fully qualified textile designer to degree level and I adore nature and the beautiful and complex patterns that form in the natural world. The photography and prints I capture and create are of the wonderful textures and shapes found when you look closely enough, landscape compositions and the man made structures against the surrounding land.
In my shop I sell prints of my art and photography on posters, canvases, prints and various homeware and accessories. To see my gallery of works you can visit my website www.ldcollingridge.co.uk. I also take on commissions, so if you fancy a landscape or piece of art of your favourite place, band, musician or icon, drop me a message at email@ldcollingridge.co.uk and come and say 'Hi'.
