Hello! I am Leah Naomi. My origin is in the mountains of Appalachia. The works that I create are based in my experiences of exploring nature and the story of the landscape revealing itself. My painting process is a conversational progression, it is fluid, intuitional and results in a composition that cannot be predicted. As I create, I meditate on images or experiences held in my memory. These visions are then translated into abstracted compositions.

Working with my knowledge of hue and value contrasts, I remove the sense of gravity and instead create an intricate composition of color and light. What results is a captured space that shifts with the viewing experience. Time of day, perspective and mood cause the paintings to reveal something new with every look, the complex composition encouraging a prolonged relationship with the beholder.
