Le Brazen Arts Studio was founded in 2020 by two best friends and former coworkers, Chris Dentel and Désirée (Desi) De La Mater. They worked side by side as developers, spending their day coding until one day over a lunch hour during the pandemic they discovered that they both had artistic talents and passions that would work well together and the idea for a collaborative art studio was born.

Their world is full of bold colors, hand-painted florals, fantastical landscapes, and whimsical creatures. Their desire is to not only create products that bring beauty to the everyday but to make gifts to share with the world that inspire magic and spark creativity.

Desi’s hand-painted illustrations and distinctive color palette are inspired by her love of chinoiserie wallpaper, folklore and illuminated manuscripts. Her illustrations inspire ideas from which Chris can create surface patterns and digital designs. This magical collaboration of ideas produces artwork and patterns that is the heart of both of their creative minds.

Chris’s sculptures and 3D designs are also inspired by folklore and fantasy. Her whimsical creatures and sculptures live in harmony with Desi’s paintings and in this way each of them inspire the other.
