My name is Gayr Stares, I am the founder of MadeLikeGaia, an illustration brand. My work typically includes fun, bright water colours blended with hand-drawn ink details.

My inspiration comes from making everyday objects fun. I love to explore both locally (I live in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, UK) and globally (when we are allowed after Covid-19). I am a designer and teacher and have fallen in love with creating beautiful watercolour paintings and patterns to brighten up your day.

Best life moment so far - going on safari in Kruger Park. This is where I discovered my favourite animal is the giraffe. I also adore dachshunds.
