My journey with Madhubani Art ... Madhubani Art (or Mithila painting) is a style of Indian painting, practiced in the Mithila region of the Indian subcontinent. The painting was originally done with a variety of tools, including fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks and using natural dyes and the colors used are derived from pigments. It is characterized by its eye-catching are used for geometrical patterns and canvas, the paste of powdered rice. Madhubani painting has remained confined to a compact geographical area and the skills have been passed on through centuries, Madhubani paintings use two-dimensional imagery, plants. I grew up watching my grand mother and aunts paint for our family weddings, child naming ceremony only to realize as I grew older this was a painting form called Madhubani Art.
