I am a self-taught artist who loves color. I spent a career in the Army, most of which time I spent in Germany. While there, I discovered a home-grown movement from the early 20th Century named the Blaue Reiter Gruppe, or Blue Ride Group. Its founding members were Wassiley Kandinskey, Aexej von Jawlensky, Marianne von Werefkin, Franz Mark, August Macke, Paul Klee and Gabrielle Muenter. this group introduced an whole new wave of expressionism, throwing away old rules of art. Although the movement was short-lived due to the outbreak of WWI and artistic differences between some members of the group, their works thrived and inspired generations of modern artists over the past century. I was fortunate to learn and study these artists, to tour the museums of Europe, and develop a style based upon the Blaue Reiter Group, and other European artists I discovered along the way, including, Hundertwasser and Klimt. I am still learning, growing as an artist, and loving the new artistic journey I am on since retiring in 2018. I hope you enjoy my art as much as I have enjoyed making it for you.
