I find joy in a painterly almost messy application of colors, applied layer upon layer until that image which I am fascinated with shimmers through the canvas. My subject matter is simply that which captivates me. I find visual allure in the beautiful grime of Coney Island, or a leftover breakfast at the diner. From stone carvings of Indian goddesses, to the heartbreaking expressive faces of Mariachi musicians, my oil paint is a tunnel through which these experiences get sucked through and spit out into a mess of paint.
