At a young age of 14, Michelle was given a challenge. She was to take on a burden that most of you will never fully understand. Her challenge was to fight an ugly disease, an enemy that you could not see. She would fight it with courage and grace, and with a smile on her face. She lived her life to the fullest and never took a day for granted. She loved spending time with her friends, playing sports, baking, traveling the world, and doing art.

After a long fight, Michelle passed away on January 13, 2015 due to RMS (rhabdomyosarcoma), a rare form of cancer. She left a huge mark on the world while she was here. She touched so many lives, we know she will never be forgotten. Her family wanted to do something to keep the spirit of Michelle alive. What better way than to honor those by selling her artwork.

When Michelle was sick and in the hospital, she'd be in there for a five or seven day treatment. One of the ways to get through the pain was doing art. That was her comfort, that was her therapy. Michelle was a talented artist and we wanted her work to be share.

Her family started the Michelle Farnsworth 's Memorial Scholarship Fund to keep her memory alive. Her scholarship foundation offers three scholarships to students who have participated in her favorite sports, field hockey and/or swimming in high school in the Central Mass area and one to a Nashoba Regional High School Student where Michelle had gone.
