Nancy Patton Wilson, a California native, moved to France in 2004 and set up a printmaking studio in an historic 300 year old house in a tiny village west of Paris. Originally an illustrator and graphic artist working for book publishers, newspapers and magazines, Nancy appreciated the opportunity to reproduce her art with her own hands on her own press. Her experimental approach leads her to create in traditional ways such as etching, woodblock printing and mono-printing, as well as exploring completely new ways to reproduce images such as eco-dyeing. The ancient photographic techniques of cyanotype is also given a modern twist in her work. She also has experimented with collage.

Nancy takes an eclectic approach to image-making, seeing her art as a constantly changing and enriching discovery, but her subject matter, nature and the world around her, remains a constant.
