Hi there! I am an artist based in Toronto, Canada.

I am inspired by nature as well as man-made objects of sorts. I love trees, forests, lakes, ocean, mountains, and, of course, the sky. I love how the light gets caught in objects bringing their inner beauty out, highlighting their essence in unimaginable ways. Sun rays caught in a rising wave, in a jar of jam, in a decanter of wine or cognac, in a berry or a fruit – all that fascinates me and truly inspires me to create.

My artworks make use of lively colors and smooth blending techniques that sometimes intermingle with larger brush strokes that give it a more contemporary look. I seem to excel in traditional and somewhat contemporary styles, sometimes borderline abstract, which produce paintings of real objects rather than completely abstract lines and spots of color. Why is that? Perhaps because I can better relate to them? Perhaps because they speak louder to me? Perhaps I feel that they reflect my true self better? I cannot answer that question really; I paint what is closer to me intrinsically, without trying to explain or justify it.

As someone who is completely self-taught, I continuously work on improving my skill, discovering new techniques along the way. My progression has been from custom pet portraits, to establishing skills at painting a variety of diverse subjects that included landscapes, seascapes, to progressing towards more serious work with deeper impact and bolder statement. Often, I am in awe after I see my final work as it may exceed my own expectations. I am truly thankful for my gift, and having received it, my passion is to pass the fruits of my talent to those who will cherish them.
