My full name is Maureen Foo Bong Soo, and while I am better known today as Maureen Pestana, I use the name Bong Soo in the art world because my paintings are inspired and founded on my peranakan heritage.

Peranakan Chinese are descendants of Chinese immigrants who came to the Malay archipelago and British Malaya (now called Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore) between the 15th and 17th centuries.

I paint from the heart and focus on things bright and beautiful. Been painting since 2007. I hope that my art will evoke in you as it does for me, a sense of cheerfulness, exquisiteness, beauty, and joy.
