PopsbyAlisa was founded in Spring 2018 by Alisa, a female Jersey City artist. Alisa came to the US a Russian refugee migrant at 4 years old and is now pursuing her "American Dream". Her childhood was spent in Brooklyn where Alisa trained in classical art and fashion. Pretty soon Alisa discovered street art and fell in love. As a teen her family moved to Suburban New Jersey. Culture shocked and terrified of the sheep life Alisa mad a vow to herself to return to the City to pursue her dreams. 2015 is the year that dream came true. She moved into a charming (NYC speak for tiny) apartment in Jersey City with courtyard views only to discover a small surprise. Between 2 buildings there was a small sliver of space and a view of the Statue of Liberty directly from her window! Lady Liberty continues to be a huge source of inspiration for Alisa. She serves as a constant reminder of the dreams which many brave souls pursued when they made the migrant Journey to America.
