My work explores the relationship between the feminine and the conceptual world now as the collective unconscious. With influences ranging from early 1800’s Erotica and Byzantine Portraiture, I seek to provide new insights into the concept of “oneness” and “Relationships” through manufactured chaos and untamed order.
The Duality of visual and conceptual subject matter has always intrigued me. I find myself spending my time reflecting on the feel, and historical significance of a color or pose rather than the subject matter itself, often finding the more human moments in things devoid or destroyed by human touch. What starts as an ember of intrigue burns passionately against my mind's eye attracting those who would burn in their love of the fire's robust light creating a symbiotic relationship between viewer and creator. The bold color and ghostly patterns dance across the canvas like the ashes blown against the wind describing only the places they’ve been with the specificity allowed to them
As the Bold nature of these reaches you the viewer is gripped by the subtlety of their own humanity.
