I am an artist and a scientist and I feel that these two parts of myself are hopelessly entangled. I love discovering things about nature and biology while I am painting and drawing them and I do science for the same reason—to continue to be amazed by the world. I find the detail and complexity of life beautiful and I pay attention to the details and shapes and colors of the subjects I represent.
