Imagery of nature, weather, natural disasters, and other external forces, are converted into abstracted forms and used to convey and reflect internal emotions such as isolation, sorrow, destruction, and terror. There is an emphasis on the contrast between light and dark; finding beauty and hope within the looming darkness.
