My name is Rachna and I am a visual artist from Pittsburgh, PA. I came to this country as a refugee of the Gulf War when I was 9. I consider myself very fortunate to live in a country where art is encouraged and supported...I create art in order to spread awareness of the importance of the individual. I feel that each individual is an integral part of the whole, we are all connected. The best outcome for creating for me is to inspire others to create. "Rachna" means 'creation' in Sanskrit and Hindi (my nationality is Indian) so I feel this is fitting :)
